Roy’s most recent musicals for young performers are:

The Hunt for William Shakespeare

"One of the best things I’ve ever done at school."

What a performer said.

A musical for 8-13 year old performers by Roy Apps & Jenny Gould, Resident Composer with the Young Shakespeare Company.

When brothers Edmund and John see a troupe of strolling players on the village green they are stage struck. Persuaded by their young friends Kate and Anne, they leave their bullying step-mother and set out on a dangerous journey to London to find the most famous player of all - William Shakespeare.

The Fang Gang

"The writing, both script and music, really played to the strengths of the young cast. A fitting and joyous culmination of the term's work."

Dale Rooks, Director, Chichester Festival Youth Theatre.

A musical for 8-13 year old performers by Roy Apps & Christopher Wortley. Based on Roy's popular children's books.

Junior Rocky Horror!

When Jonathan Leech is sent to stay with his grandad, he discovers -to his horror- that grandad is a vampire (albeit not a very successful one).

Before he knows it, Jonathan is invited to join the Fang Gang, a gruesome collection of young ghouls, werewolves, zombies and vampires.

At first Jonathan resists, but soon he embarks on an exhilarating,

funny and touching journey of self-discovery. With a cast that includes young vampires, werewolves and ghouls -not to mention a headless teacher- this fun-packed musical will have all prospective spooks shivering with delight.
